We read everything that comes in, and we answer what needs an answer. The form below goes straight to the editors, and so does email to [email protected]. There is no phone line and no postal address.

What to send us

Story ideas. Tell us what is happening and why it matters beyond your own organization. A program that worked, one that quietly failed, a hiring practice worth copying, a fight over a park or a permit. Links to public documents help.

Corrections. If we got something wrong, say what, where, and how you know. We fix factual errors in the story itself and note the change at the end.

Contributor pitches. We publish pieces by practitioners: land trust staff, rangers, organizers, researchers, educators, students. Send two or three sentences on the argument you want to make and a line about yourself. Please don't send finished drafts on the first approach.

What we can't help with

We are a small publication, not a service organization. We can't offer trainings, consulting, legal advice or grants, and we don't run programs or events. If you need one of those, our organizations and resources pages are a good place to start looking.

Your details

We only use what you send to reply to you. Messages are kept in our editorial inbox and deleted when they are no longer needed. More in our privacy notice.
